BUFORD, GA — Navy veteran, husband, father, grandfather, local business owner, and community leader Edwin Duncan, has announced his campaign for Georgia State House District 100, pledging to bring common sense leadership and conservative values to the State Capitol.

“For over 20 years, District 100 has been my home. It has given me every opportunity to serve, be successful in business, and to raise my family. Now I’m running to give back and serve my community," said Duncan. “When I enlisted in the Navy, I swore an oath to defend and serve my country and that oath didn’t stop the day I hung up my uniform. I will continue to uphold this oath in the Capitol by cutting taxes, protecting girls’ sports, backing the blue, empowering parents, and keeping Georgia a place where faith, family, and freedom come first.”

Duncan was born at Fort Bragg while his father served in the U.S. Army. He later moved to Alabama where he was raised in a proud military family, paving the way for him to enlist in the U.S. Navy. After his service, he built a life in Georgia with his wife April, raising their children and now grandchildren on Lake Lanier.

Edwin & April are a proud four blue star family with four of their five children currently serving our country in the U.S. Military. With one child currently deployed overseas, Duncan understands firsthand the sacrifice that comes with a life dedicated to the service of our country.

A successful entrepreneur, Duncan launched and grew roofing, solar, and HVAC supply companies that have created jobs in Georgia and beyond. He’s also spent over a decade empowering young women through coaching girls’ volleyball at Lambert High School, A5, and Emory University, among others. Through this experience, he gained firsthand insight into why protecting fairness in girls’ sports is so important.

In the legislature, Duncan will focus on advancing tax relief for senior citizens and families, supporting law enforcement, creating opportunity through expanding trade and career training, protecting girls’ sports and Title IX, empowering parents, and creating a promising future for all families in House District 100.
